Submit a Planning Application with the application materials required in the corresponding application checklist to the Planning Division. The Planning Division will determine zoning compliance and the appropriate reviewing body to determine approval of the structure. If the structure is approved and a Planning Permit is issued, you may then apply for Building Permits for the structure, in which the Building Division will review the structure for Building Code compliance. After the Building Permit is issued and passes any subsequent inspections, the structure will be determined legal.
