Do the architectural standards and building types apply to site improvements and/or additions to existing nonconforming structures in the Form-Based Code area?

Yes, all new construction other than repairs in kind requires compliance with the applicable architectural styles and building types. When not exempt from design review, existing single-family residences may elect to choose the Heritage Home Design Guidelines in lieu of the Form-Based Code architectural styles. Applicants electing to use the Heritage Home Design Guidelines must meet the equivalent objective design standards as required by the Form-Based Code.
