Is a deck above an ADU (accessory dwelling unit) allowed?

Rooftop decks with required railings are permitted on single-story accessory dwelling units (ADUs), and on top of the single-story portions of two-story ADUs. Rooftop decks are not permitted on the roof of the second story.

Rooftop decks must maintain a minimum setback on each side of the lot of 10 percent of the width of the lot, plus an additional setback of two feet but can never be less than five feet, as measured from the property line to the required railing of the rooftop deck.
